Founded in 1888, HCC has always been a focal point for community activity during the summer months, and remains so today.
The Club runs three teams in the Devon League on a Saturday, with the 1st Team Playing in the Premier Division, 2ndXI playing in the E Division West and the 3rd XL playing in the G Division West on Sunday two teams compete in the North Devon League. The Sunday 1st XI are Champions of the NDL whilst the 2nd XI are in Division Four.
A team will also be playing in a Midweek evening League (The Buckley Cup – 20/20 format) throughout the summer. With several Friendly Matches against local teams and touring teams from around the country, there is plenty of opportunity for players to take part at all levels.
The Ladies Section plays in the 1st Division of the Devon Women’s League and will also be playing in T 20 competitions and tournaments throughout the County.
As for Junior cricket, the Club is proud of its involvement and every year we coach around 70 boys and girls from the age of 8 upwards. Please look out for the registration night towards the end of April.
Away from the playing side, Hatherleigh CC is fortunate to have a well-supported bar which is open on all match days, together with practice evenings throughout the summer. It also has a reputation for some of the finest teas in the county on all match days. These are available to spectators as well as players, so there are plenty of reasons to visit HCC throughout the summer.
